​I have been coached by both Rob and Mark in my football journey. I first started working with Rob at Carlton in 2014 when he was a senior assistant coach. Since then I’ve continued to use his knowledge in the off-seasons to work on my field and goal kicking.

Robbie teaches the basic fundamentals of kicking and builds from there. He is big on a strong stance leg, strong foot and a power full leg swing. He’s been great for my football journey and I always love working with him.

I’ve been coached by Mark since I was 15 years old to improve my power, speed and running technique. When I’m back in Perth I’ve tried to use Mark’s skills to continue to improve my running.

Like Rob, he has a great fundamental understanding of running and builds you up the right way. Mark’s been awesome for me over the years and I’ve seen huge improvement by using Mark over the years.

The best thing about both coaches is they are easy to get along with and easy to build a relationship with.

The Details

Who?
For boys and girls ages 12-17yrs

When?
The Kickstarter program will run over 6 weeks from March 3rd until April 7th.

Participants will be divided into groups by age (12-14yrs and 15-17yrs) and train for 1 session per week on Thursday afternoons 4 pm - 6 pm.

​Each group will be allocated a session time from either 4 - 5pm or 5pm - 6pm.

Who are the coaches?
Ryan Cook - Football specific conditioning and core coach
Rob Wiley - Kicking specific skills coach 
Mark Neates - Sprint coach

About the sessions:
These sessions are all about developing AFL on an individual basis covering skills, core, and running technique.
​
  1. Each class will be split into 2 groups of 4.
  2. For the first 30-minutes one group will train with Rob and focus on kicking specific drills .
  3. While the other group will be coached on their sprinting technique/football specific conditioning and core with Mark or Cooky.
  4. At the end of the 30-minutes the groups will swap and continue training until the hour is up.

Price?
$450 for one hour sessions over the course of 6 weeks.

What to bring?
Footy boots, hat, exercise clothes, water bottle.

Putting in the work with Rob on my kicking over the past two off seasons has greatly improved both my technique and my own confidence in my disposal by foot. 

After finishing season 2020 with a kicking efficiency of 50%, my disposal by foot was an area that needed improving to play my best football at the highest level. Through fine tuning my natural technique as well as deliberate and quality repetitions over time, my kicking efficiency for season 2021 shot up to 80%. 

The self belief in my kicking ability has never been so high thanks to Rob’s knowledge and attention to detail.

Mark Neates has been a fantastic coach in improving my running technique and more specifically my explosiveness off the mark and top end speed. His experience in working with a wide variety of athletes including footballers allows him to tailor the sessions to suit a footballers needs.

I have worked with youth for over 10 years at Fitness Results conducting kids fitness classes with a focus on running technique and sports skills. I really enjoy passing on the knowledge I've gained throughout my sporting career.

​It is so rewarding to see each individual achieve the results they've worked extremely hard for.

  • 5 years and 14 games at Collingwood Football Club
  • 250+ games at elite + state level
  • Longest serving captain of the South Fremantle Football Club

I have always had a great passion for developing young athletes and feel great reward in seeing them achieve through their hard work and commitment.

I have over 50 years experience of playing and coaching at state, WAFL and AFL levels.

I have played for:
  • Perth, Richmond, and West Coast Eagles.

I have coached at:
  • Perth, WCE, Carlton, East Fremantle, Christ Church Grammar and the WAFL State Junior Pathway.

Marks‎ Neates‎ has‎ been‎ sprint‎ coach‎ to‎ the‎ West‎ Coast‎ Eagles‎ for‎ 14‎ years,‎ as‎ well‎ as‎ sprint‎ coach‎ to‎ the‎ Fremantle‎ Dockers,‎ Richmond,‎ the‎ Western‎ Force,‎ State‎ U'18‎ and‎ 16‎ AFL‎ teams,‎ 5‎ WAFL‎ clubs‎ and‎ state‎ track‎ and‎ field‎ teams.‎
